    Care instructions

Sterling silver jewelry is made from an alloy containing 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, typically copper. While more durable than pure silver, the following will help to keep it looking great and tarnish-free.

Regularly polish with a soft cloth to remove tarnish.

Store in a dry, airtight container to prevent oxidation.

Avoid exposure to chemicals (such as those found in hot tubs, pool, some perfumes etc)

How to remove light tarnish from 925 sterling silver

You can easily clean silver jewelry at home using household items. Here's a simple DIY cleaning solution:

Mix equal parts water and mild dish soap in a bowl.
Soak the silver jewelry in the soapy water for a few minutes to loosen dirt and debris.
Gently scrub the jewelry with a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove any remaining residue.
Rinse the jewelry thoroughly under lukewarm water and pat dry with a clean, soft cloth.

Store in a ziploc bag to prevent oxidizing (tarnish)

How to remove heavy tarnish from 925 sterling silver

Using this cleaning method the tarnish disappears due to an electrolytic reaction which transfers the oxidized tarnish from the silver to the aluminum foil.

    - Line a large glass or metal baking dish with aluminum foil, shiny side facing up.
    - Place the tarnished silver items onto the foil-lined tray.
    - Pour boiling hot water into the tray, completely covering the silver items.
    - Add two heaping tablespoons of baking soda to the water For best results sprinkle the baking soda evenly across the pan.
    - Let the silver items soak in the baking soda and water for 30 minutes.
    - Remove the silver pieces from the tray and rinse well and pat dry

What silver materials do you use?

We use a variety of high quality materials in our designs:

Sterling Silver is an heirloom quality metal
    - Made with 92.5% pure silver + 7.5% other metals for stability and strength.
    - All sterling silver can tarnish - it is easily prevented and removed (see solutions in these FAQs).
    - Wearing your silver often can help prevent tarnish.
    - Will last a lifetime with proper care

Silver Plate is an excellent affordable alternative to solid sterling.
    - has the look and feel of solid sterling
    - ours is premium thick 3 micron plate of sterling over brass - this is not flash plating, (ie cheaper fast-fashion jewelry, less than .5 micron)
    - a great option for occasional or rotating pieces

What gold materials do you use?

We use a variety of high quality metals in our designs:

Gold filled is a beautiful long lasting material.
    - It is very durable and will not chip or turn colors.
    - Made with a thick layer of 14k gold pressure bonded to brass.
    - True gold filled has 100x more gold than plated
    - Gold filled pieces can last many years with proper care.

Gold Plate is a wonderful budget-friendly option.
    - Ours is a premium heavy plate, ie not flash plating as with most fast-fashion jewelry.
    - Made with a layer of gold on top of a base metal, (our is brass); it is lead, cadmium and nickel free, tarnish resistant and water friendly.
    - All gold plated items fade over time - keeping them away from chemicals (ie perfume, pools, sunscreen) helps.
